In 2010 the “Best of Realty” awards which are regarded as the most prestigious in the sector in the country will be granted for the 12th time. Every year the projects contributing to the Czech real estate market level improvement and demonstrating the capabilities of the developers, architects, designers, building contractors and real estate agents are highlighted this way. The highly esteemed awards are granted in five categories by a jury composed of the leading Czech real estate market professionals:



  • New Office Building Projects
  • Reconstructed Office Blocks
  • Residential Projects
  • Shopping Parks
  • Hotels

In addition to the basic categories a special Award of Excellence is granted by the jury to a project/personage which/who extraordinarily contributed to the Czech real estate market development during the respective year.


Nomination
The applications for a project nomination for the Best of Realty award may be sent by various entities (building contractors, developers, real estate agents, administrators, municipalities, tenants or architects). However, a project may be nominated for the award only subject to a prior consent from its owner.


To enter the competition, the project must obey a set of basic rules. In a very real sense, it must be put on the market, which means that at least 50 per cent must be for rent or sale, and no more than 50 per cent can be used by the owner. Furthermore, the project must be completed following 1 January 2009 (or, when being nominated, it can be in the process of final building approval), and must not be nominated in any of the previous years of the competition. It is required that the owner of the building agrees with the participation in the competition.



The main criteria for assessing the quality of projects are their location, urban and architectural design, as well as the quality of the construction work and, first and foremost, their success on the property market. This explains why the awards are given only to those projects that have significantly higher added value, compared with others. The application for nomination must include:



  • All details on the project
  • At least 3 high-quality photographs (min. size: A5, resolution: 300 dpi; jpg)
  • Company logo (ai, eps)
